About us
A Rwandan accessories and clothing brand with an experimental and unconventional appeal, AM!KE (AMIKE) is a made-to-measure and ready to go brand. Our idea development is highly influenced by poetry, nature and culture. The production process specializes on handcraft techniques from different African cultures, aesthetics and powerful figures from ancient Africa and tales from the continent, especially Rwanda.
Handcraft has been and still is a big part of the Rwandan culture. Basket weaving, beading, weapon craft (amacumu, imiheto n'imyambi,.) are a few examples of what kindles inspiration in the designer and founder of AM!KE, Aline Amike.
All the products are handmade in Rwanda by Rwandan women, with the purpose of uplifting women who work with us with providing them with ad additional source of income. We usually work with single mothers and elderly women who are keen on preserving the crafting skills just as we are.
